PS11 defines the initial installation and performance procedures for Particulate Matter Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (PM CEMS) in the US. PM CEMS are used in a variety of industies and applications. One of the unique parts to PM CEMS / PS11 is that they have a full statistical calibration curve using the EPA Reference Method. This requires data points at three different PM concentrations, low, medium and high. Our PM Spiking method was specifically designed to meet the needs of PS11.
Besides having a patent on the method for PM Spiking for PM CEMS, we have over a decade of experience of handling and feeding fly ash and other materials into systems for calibrating and auditing PM CEMS. We have performed PM Spiking at over 200 applications since 2010 in both dry scrubber systems and wet scrubber systems. For more details, see information on our PM Spiking method.
Our PM Spiking capabilities provide the easiest way to change your PM concentrations and meet the different concentration levels as required by PS11 for your initial curve or when conducting a Relative Curve Audit (RCA). The ability to control the amount of PM going into the system virtually eliminates the chance of exceeding your permitted emissions limit while alloing you to streach your total curve. And when the testing is done, the spiking is turned off and no baghouse repairs to be made.

Having a lower PM concentration makes you annual relative response audit (RRA) testing and response correlation audit (RCA) testing going smoother.
